We visited the state police station on the lake and interviewed the officers on duty that night. Q: How come your not there all the time? A: We are busy patrolling N.Y. harbor and don't spend a lot of time here until the lake freezes Q:When is the ice considered safe? A:We cant answer that we believe that no ice is safe Q:where can we get safety info about the ice?
